Removing Your Mask & Being Authentic
Through life, the world has trained you to disown your uncomfortable qualities such as control, sensitivity, or laziness because when you innocently showcased them in your past, you’ve experienced judgment causing you to feel like you’re not enough or you’re too much. To avoid that awful feeling of being too much or not enough, you mask more and more of your human qualities so you can be likeable, be valued, be seen as successful, or to mask whatever qualities you label as “bad.”
From all the shoving down and hiding, you feel something missing. Naturally, to fill that missing component, you chase the next thing or the bigger, grander thing…like more customers, a more prestigious job title, a more dangerous hobby, working more hours, you name it. Despite this, you still feel something missing, so you fill it with more stuff. As you fill it with more and more external things, you close more and more doors to who you are as a whole person. When you close doors to your humanity, you don’t show up authentically. To get to that authentic place in life, showing up as fully expressed, this podcast shines a light on the locked doors covered with cobwebs that need to be seen and brought to light. Seeing your darkness brings more of your light to the foreground giving you the confidence to take your mask off. When you take your mask off, you have more choices in life to achieve the greatness you’re seeking.
