No, coaching is not consulting. Coaching focuses on what’s beneath your consciousness that you can’t see but dramatically affects your life and how you show up; hence, coaching is rooted in your “being.” Coaching results are based in breakthroughs which come from intentionally holding your fear’s hand and stepping into the unknown so you can develop your ability of being with uncertainty, and in doing that, develop your leadership, your self-confidence, your self-trust, and your fulfillment–and, ultimately, this dramatically affects your results.Â
^^These are not the results of consulting.Â
Consulting provides you with advice and arms you with information (e.g. “do this” “don’t do that” “say it this way instead of that way”) and is rooted in your “doing.”Â
This distinction matters because if who you’re “being” doesn’t align with the advice on what to do next, then it isn't going to create a real shift for you.Â
I weave a little consulting into my coaching practice. You’ll learn processes and strategies for hard employee conversations to help you approach them with confidence. I share relationship tools and methods so you can improve your personal life and regain connection with your significant other. You’ll learn scheduling structures so you can stop over-working and start having white space.
